Five Minute Friday - She

Five Minute Friday
Five minute Friday – a prompt, 5 minutes of free-style writing, link up, then encourage and be encouraged.

Ok, I blog about food and not so much about life let alone with a one word prompt but I was referred to this linky exercise by my Blog Hop Blitz partner +Tiffany Ben  and I just couldn't resist giving it a try. Five minutes out of my day to reflect unedited. With the prompt word

SHE

So the county down begins - GO…

She takes life so seriously and worries about every minute detail of her life challenges and decisions.

She has fought her whole life for every ounce of everything she has.

She always knew what it would take to be successful and it didn’t matter if she acted outside the boundaries of her time. She was a pioneer in a man’s world – farming.

She shunned the criticism by neighbors who thought she was out of her league and not acting lady-like. She jumped on those huge tractors and she plowed the ground, she baled hay, she delivered calves and treated sick cows, she fixed lunch and dinner, she raised three children.

She was a woman libber before women’s rights became popular by Gloria Steinem.

She set examples for her daughters and when her daughters wanted to show cattle without being forced to sew and cook for the privilege of showing cattle, she took on the Extension Service and demanded equality and won.

She has a spirit that is admirable and one that I strive to match. She paved the way for her daughters and other women to struggle just a little less than she did.

She is the epitome of resiliency. She is my Mother
