Halloween Decoration

My sister and I had a moment at Michaels the other day, yes you can say we got sucked up by all the Halloween Decorations and our creative juices just kicked in and before we new it our cart was full and 150 dollars later we were on our way home to do our own theme. I cut the top off the pumpkin and added floral foam inside.

Cowboy Chili

I haven't cooked a steak chili in years, but it has always been my favorite so I set off to recreate my recipe. Why? Because I am the kind of cook that never writes down her recipes and puts them together as I go. I know a lot of you do the same thing.
My chili has to be spicy and full of meat. I like a chili that's flavors and spices are layered throughout each bite. This chili is packed with the smokiness of the roasted peppers and the tenderness of the chuck roast.
This time I wrote the recipe down and am sharing it with you. I hope you all try it.

Music for the Soul #2

We love music as much as we love food and we like a lot of different genres of music including country, blues, funk, soul and rock.

A personal favorite, that in my opinion will never be dated,  is "Soulshine" recorded by the Allman Brothers on their 1994 album Where It all Began.  In 1994 Gov't Mule was formed as a side band and they took the song with them. This video is by Gov't Mule  - Soulshine 2007 by Greg Allman, Trey Anastasio and Derek Trucks. It doesn't get any better than this!

 A beautiful and uplifting bluesy southern rock song and a great way to start your week.

We had such a great time on Saturday and met a lot of great people. Watching our audience react to our twist on a Sundae was hilarious. When they first saw it you could tell they were thinking desert they would have such a confused look, but after the explanation we got an OMG! I have to do this on my next party.
