Almond Flour Pizza Crust - A Conversion from the Original Recipe

I am so excited to be involved in the April Showers Bring May Flours project with www.nuts.com.

We were challenged to convert our Quick & Easy Shake Pizza Crust from an all purpose flour crust to a blanched almond flour crust. I couldn't wait to try this conversion because I was sure if successful it would be amazingly delicious.

Oh, and not to forget, being motivated to focus on cooking healthier is much needed in my kitchen. Almonds are so wonderfully delicious that you forget they are extremely healthy for you!

This past January, I posted the Quick & Easy Shake Pizza Crust. This recipe is not only simple to make but also simply delicious.

I was so surprised to find that I was able to convert the original recipe with very little effort. Initially I was concerned that the lack of gluten could make the crust runny. I mixed the ingredients together per the recipe but substituted the almond flour for the all purpose flour. It was just a little runnier than the original. I incorporated an additional 1/4 cup of almond flour and it was exactly as the original recipe.

Then I was concerned whether it would suspend the tomato sauce and toppings.and I questioned whether the crust would be crisp. All of my concerns were unfounded. In fact, it was unnecessary worrying as always. It was perfect all the way around!

The sweet nutty taste of the almond flour crust combined with the earthy flavor of Baby Bella mushrooms for the topping is beyond heavenly!

Note: Finding almond flour in my small town was impossible and I had no intention of making my own. Ordering Almond Flour from Nuts.Com is easy, their prices are good and they have been in business since 1929 (so they have quite a bit of history).

Just follow the recipe and details of making the Quick & Easy Shake Pizza Crust Recipe posted in January 2051. The original recipe has been updated for easy conversion to an almond flour crust. If you rather, immediately Print the recipe now.

No monetary payment or product was received for this blog post. We are not an affiliate of the company and will not receive future monetary payments for clicks onto their website. The intent of the project was to promote the benefits of almond flour and the ease of incorporating almond flour into your every day cooking and baking.  We will never write a review on a brand's product nor will we promote a product, if we believe the product will not be beneficial to you. The opinions in this post are our own.

Quick & Easy Shake Pizza Crust - Busy Just Got Easy

Easy Life Meal & Party Planning: Quick & Easy Pizza Crust - 3 minutes to prepare - no rising, no kneading, and no rolling & amazing!
Oh my gosh, you are going to love this quick and easy pizza crust recipe which takes about 3 minutes to mix up and pour into your pizza pan. Yes that is right "pour". Just think no rising, no kneading, no rolling and the best part, it makes an amazing tasting pizza.

This quick shake pizza crust recipe is one that I have been making well forever so let's just say it fits into the category of vintage! I prefer this recipe over the traditional dough and my husband who is a pizza fanatic absolutely loves this recipe.

Note: This recipe was updated on 5/19/2015 to include the option to convert the recipe to gluten-free by adding blanched almond flour.

French Bread Mini Meatball Pizza

French Bread Mini Meatball PizzaI would love to say that I "love" pizza but I don't unless it is a fresh mushroom pizza and then I drool all over myself.  Pizza is one of my husband's favorite meals and he asks for it way too often and not the kind of pizza you order. It has to be homemade (the dough not the sauce) and it can only contain hamburger or pepperoni with peppers. By the way, he "hates" mushrooms. So, the other night to his great dismay I refused to make a pizza unless I could do it differently.

Steak Pizza topped with Feta Cheese and a Balsamic Glaze

Steak Pizza topped with a Feta Cheese and a Balsamic GlazeSome of the best sides for a steak are sautéed mushrooms, onions and peppers. That’s right, all that on this pizza plus at the end a Balsamic Glaze and then sprinkled with Feta cheese. Let the party begin in your mouth. This fantastic pizza has a bulk of flavors to ignite anyone’s pallet.

Great American Pizza Bake

Great American Pizza - a homemade grilled pizza with Heirloom Tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil - Easy Life Meal & Party PlanningIn celebration of one of my favorite foods I am going to use the vegi's from my garden. Heirloom German Tomatoes, green onions, basil and red peppers. I bought the dough from the bakery from my grocery store which sells fresh dough. That's a real time saver. I start by spreading the dough on the pizza pan and then spread my homemade pesto over it. Top it with fresh mozzarella and then layer the rest of the ingredients. And just for a salty surprise, I crumble Bacon over the top, who doesn't love Bacon. I cooked this pizza at 400 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
I Love this Pizza!
