I have been visiting my sister in Florida since last Saturday. Our plans were to do a cooking demonstration, get some work done on our blog and have a lot of fun. Well, we completed the cooking demonstration and we are having a lot of fun and getting a little work done on our blog.

Stir Fried Rice with Grilled Teriyaki Shrimp and Pineapple
This past summer I was on a grilled shrimp and pineapple kick fixing them on skewers, combining them with grilled steak, baked potatoes, etc. However, I still like the standard Shrimp and Fried Rice so I decided I would just add my favorite grilled shrimp and pineapple to fried rice. It is such a quick, tasty, filling and easy main dish who wouldn't add this to their list of standard recipes to make for lunch and dinner.

Five Minute Friday - She
Five minute Friday – a prompt, 5 minutes of free-style writing, link up, then encourage and be encouraged.
Ok, I blog about food and not so much about life let alone with a one word prompt but I was referred to this linky exercise by my Blog Hop Blitz partner +Tiffany Ben and I just couldn't resist giving it a try. Five minutes out of my day to reflect unedited. With the prompt word
SHE
So the county down begins - GO…

BBQ Block Party Transitions to Four Seasons Blog Hop
The 1st day of Fall starts this Sunday so it won't be long until grilling season will be over for many people. Sad. Well, I have been known, in an act of desperation, to shovel a path through the snow to my grill.
We thought about putting the BBQ Block Party on a respite until grilling season is in full swing again. BUT we really enjoy hosting the party and we love our guests!

Today we are kicking off the new party called the "Four Seasons Blog Hop Party" where we can celebrate the greatness that each season brings to our lives.

Our Cooking Demo at Williams-Sonoma
I can not explain how excited I was when we were asked to be a guest host at Williams-Sonoma cooking demonstration. I know all you foodies can understand what an honor it is to be able to show off a couple of your best post, but also be able to blog on Williams-Sonoma's products that we will be using. We will be demonstrating our Roast Beef Sundae and Southern Cheesy Grits and Shrimp Sundae on Sept. 28th between 12-2. They will be calling their cooking club for sign ups and they have our poster and pamphlets throughout their store. This should be quite the day!

Layered Hot Mexican Dip
One of the reasons I love food is because it often times invokes great memories. It is one of the rare things in life that can do this with any frequency. The Layered Hot Mexican Dip recipe always makes me reminisce about a wonderful week my family spent with my sister's family in the Colorado mountains. This is a recipe that my sister,Shawna Williams, concocted that week and it was a big hit with both families.

Caesar Salad Wrap
There are two things I really like and that is Caesar salad and sandwich wraps so I decided to combine the two and boy I wasn't disappointed it was delicious. This recipe is a real time-saver taking approximately 5 minutes to pull together. It is a wonderful easy light meal but would also be great to serve at parties as well.

Southern Cheesy Grits and Shrimp Sundae
My sister was talking to me about one of her favorite fair foods which is a roast beef sundae. You take a classic Midwestern dish and put it together like a sundae. You can catch her recipe here Roast Beef Sundae.
I thought it sounded so good and what a great appetizer. With football season here, Finally!, I decided to take one of my husbands favorite and sundae it up. This Southern Sundae oozes with warm soft cheesy grits, cool sour creme, heat from the jalapeno's topped with marinated grilled shrimp. The marinate that is used on the shrimp is made with fresh citrus and enhances the flavors of the meat. I use this same marinate when doing ceviche.

Roast Beef Sundae with Biscuit Bites
I love the Iowa State Fair which is held every August for 11 days and I usually attend as many days as possible. This year was no exception and in celebration of my favorite food from the Iowa Beef Producers' fair restaurant, I made my own version of Roast Beef Sundae with a little twist - biscuit bites.
