Ingredients
Meatballs
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. oatmeal
3 tsp. onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Flour
1 tablespoon oil
2/3 heaping cup Ketchup
2/3 c. Packed Brown Sugar
1/3 c. Bourbon
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Directions
Meatball
Mix all ingredients, except flour and oil, until thoroughly incorporated
Form mixture into
balls 1 1/2 to 2 inches
Roll in flour
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat
Add meatballs to hot oil in a single layer - do not crowd
Cook for a few minutes on each side until browned
Place meatballs in a slow cooker with sauce
Cook in slow cooker on high for 1 hour and then reduce to low
Serve at anytime after the 1 hour
Sauce
Add all ingredients in a pan and mix until thoroughly incorporated
Bring to a boil and boil for several minutes
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes
Add sauce to meatballs in slow cooker
Stir gently covering meatballs with sauce
Note: In the slow cooker the sauce will cook down to a nice sticky glaze. Make sure you check the meatballs periodically so the glaze burn in the slow cooker (this only happens after they are in the cooker on low for many hours). At some point you may want to turn the cooker to warm.
